World Heart Rhythm Week 2026: Just one month to go!

  • 06 May 2026

With just one month remaining until World Heart Rhythm Week 2026, organized by our partner, Arrhythmia Alliance, healthcare professionals, patients, and advocacy groups around the world are gearing up for a major push to raise awareness about heart rhythm disorders.

Scheduled to take place from 1–7 June, this annual campaign shines a spotlight on conditions such as atrial fibrillation (AF), arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac arrest—issues that affect millions globally but often go undiagnosed. Organizers say this year’s theme will focus on early detection and the life-saving importance of routine heart rhythm checks, reflecting the key areas of focus of projects such as TARGET, which contribute in different ways to advancing prevention, digital innovation, data-driven research, and integrated care in cardiovascular health.

Raising Awareness and Promoting Early Detection

Medical experts warn that untreated irregular heart rhythms can raise the risk of stroke and heart failure, yet many people still overlook symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, and shortness of breath. World Heart Rhythm Week addresses this gap through public events, free screenings, and educational initiatives.

Healthcare institutions and community organizations are also being encouraged to host ECG screening sessions and workshops, supported by digital outreach via social media and virtual seminars to extend awareness.

Patients living with heart rhythm disorders will contribute personal experiences, underscoring the value of early detection and timely treatment to encourage greater public engagement in heart health.

As the campaign nears, organizers are calling for broad participation—attending events, sharing information online, or simply taking a moment for basic self-checks like measuring pulse. With cardiovascular disease remaining a leading global cause of death, the initiative reinforces a clear message:

early awareness and action can save lives.
