TARGET Project to join AI Roundtable “Common challenges of AI strategies-related EU/HaDEA funded projects”

  • 26 May 2024

Join the TARGET project in the upcoming roundtable entitled “Common challenges of AI strategies-related EU/HaDEA funded projects”, scheduled for June 10, 2024. The event will take place at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece, and will also be available online on Zoom, ensuring broad accessibility.

Organised by the PREPARE project in collaboration with eight other EU-funded initiatives, including Microb-AI-omeSPIDeRRSTRATA-FITSTRATIF-AITARGETAI4LungsCoMPaSS-NMD, and COMFORT, this roundtable seeks to forge a network among leaders in AI healthcare innovation. These projects are supported by EU grants to develop AI-driven technologies aimed at categorizing patients by their disease risk or treatment response. This approach is designed to support healthcare providers in identifying optimal treatment plans and substantially enhance patient care quality.

The roundtable will address significant issues such as data interoperability, federated learning approaches, explainable AI, and the complexities surrounding Medical Device Regulation (MDR) certification. These discussions aim to enhance the understanding of AI’s potential to reduce the administrative burden on healthcare providers, allowing for more focused patient care.

Dr Sandra Ortega-Martorell, TARGET project coordinator, will represent our team, contributing our project's insights and advancements to the collective knowledge pool. The TARGET project's involvement reflects our commitment to addressing the pressing challenges in AI health tech, particularly in improving the precision and efficacy of patient treatments.

The event promises engaging discussions across two rounds, focusing on technical advancements and regulatory frameworks essential for the future of healthcare AI. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage directly with AI experts during a Q+A session, making this a must-attend for those involved in healthcare and AI technologies.

We invite all interested parties to join us in exploring these crucial topics, either in person at Aristotle University or online on Zoom. For further information and to register, please click here.
