This  event, organised by Liverpool John Moores University  and University of Liverpool researchers, will feature interactive puzzle challenges exploring how artificial intelligence and digital twins are transforming medical decision-making. The game features interactive activities allowing participants to explore AI training and its impact on healthcare.

British Science Festival 

The British Science Festival is Europe's longest-standing science festival, designed to connect people with scientists, engineers, technologists and social scientists across the UK. The 2025 edition will take place in Liverpool from Wednesday 10 to Sunday 14 September, hosted by Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool. Over five days, the festival will offer an inspiring programme of free talks, workshops and drop-in events spanning diverse scientific subjects, aiming to celebrate the people, stories and ideas at the heart of science with something for everyone. 

Step Into the Future: TARGET's AI Healthcare Escape Room Challenge 

The rich programme of this edition includes a healthcare-themed escape room designed by LJMU and UoL, where participants will work together to solve a series of puzzles inspired by real-world healthcare challenges. In this interactive event, teams will soon immerse in a high-stakes medical scenario where researchers and clinicians collaborate to save a stroke-risk patient using a digital twin — a virtual model built from real health data and powered by AI.  Participants will race against time, solving puzzles and applying digital twin insights to “save” the patient before time runs out. Along the way, they’ll gain hands-on experience with how AI systems are trained in practice, while exploring the role of digital twins in advancing medical decision-making.  This unique experience highlights how patients and healthcare professionals alike can help shape the future of personalized care. TARGET project is proud to be part of this groundbreaking initiative, and its members will be on hand throughout the day to facilitate the experience and provide hints to teams when needed.  

This event is open to all, and no booking is required. Visitors can simply drop in, join a team, and immerse themselves in this peculiar blend of science, technology, and fun.
