Heart Rhythm Congress 2024: A Premier Cardiology Event in Birmingham Showcasing Virtual Twin-Driven AI for AF and Stroke Management

  • 24 September 2024

Birmingham, UK — From October 6 to 8, 2024, the heart rhythm community will gather at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham for the 19th annual “Heart Rhythm Congress (HRC2024)”, the UK’s largest and most comprehensive event focused on arrhythmias. With over 2,200 global healthcare professionals expected to attend, HRC2024 will feature cutting-edge developments in cardiology, from clinical breakthroughs to digital innovation.

This year’s event promises to be especially transformative, highlighting the integration of artificial intelligence (AI)  in the treatment of atrial fibrillation (AF) and its complications, such as AF-related stroke (AFRS). A key player in this innovation is the TARGET project , which is using virtual twin-driven AI models to reshape risk prediction, diagnosis, and management for patients with AF and AFRS.

Arrhythmia Alliance: A Key Partner in the TARGET Project

A key partnership for the TARGET project is with the Arrhythmia Alliance (A-A), a global coalition of charities, patients, caregivers, medical organizations, and healthcare professionals. With its strong international presence and dedication to advancing arrhythmia care, A-A leads efforts in advocacy, education, and policy reform in cardiac health. Together with its sister organization, the AF Association, the Alliance plays a pivotal role in bridging research, clinical practice, and patient care, making it an invaluable partner in TARGET’s mission to transform groundbreaking research into practical, life-saving innovations.

As AF continues to be a prevalent condition, raising the risk of stroke and heart failure, the work of A-A, in tandem with the TARGET project , is pivotal in advancing personalised medicine and digital health tools for better AF management.

Patients Day at HRC2024: Empowering the AF Community

A standout feature of HRC2024 is Patients Day, scheduled for Sunday, October 6. This special event will provide individuals living with atrial fibrillation (AF) the chance to interact with top cardiology experts, including Dr. John Cannon, Dr. Boon Lim, Prof. Carlos Morillo, and Dr. Mark Tanner. The day will cover essential topics such as AF management options, ablation techniques, and the latest digital monitoring devices, offering invaluable insights for both patients and caregivers.
