EACH Cardiovascular Health Summit: A Landmark Event in Brussels

  • 30 October 2025

The European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH) is organizing the EACH Cardiovascular Health Summit in Brussels on 10-11 December 2025. With the Secretariat provided by the European Society of Cardiology, this  summit offers a unique opportunity for health stakeholders and national representatives to come together to discuss the latest in cardiovascular health, prevention, and EU health policies.

Day 1: Shaping the Future of Cardiovascular Health

The first day of the EACH Cardiovascular Health Summit will kick off with the opening Keynote Address, where the EU Cardiovascular Health Plan will be introduced. This plan represents a foundational framework developed by the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health. It aims to reduce premature and preventable deaths from cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in Europe by one-third by 2030, through a comprehensive approach prioritizing prevention, early intervention, rehabilitation, and improved quality of life.

Following the keynote key representatives of the EU Parliament will share their insights into the EU’s current approach to cardiovascular health.

The day will also feature a series of Science-Snippets that will provide valuable insights into emerging areas of cardiovascular health; indeed one key snippet will explore the intricate relationship between cardiovascular disease and mental health, with a focus on how the two conditions influence each other. Another snippet will dive into the role of environmental influences, examining how factors such as pollution, urbanization, and lifestyle impact the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Throughout the day, the High-Level Panel will focus on addressing the inequalities in cardiovascular health, discussing how EU and national action plans can improve equity and ensure policies reach those most in need, reducing disparities and enhancing outcomes for all.

Finally, the day will also shine a spotlight on Denmark, giving the opportunity to learn about the country’s successful approach to cardiovascular health.

Day 2: Advancing Science, Innovation, and Policy

On the second day of the EACH Cardiovascular Health Summit, the discussions will dive deeper into the future of cardiovascular health, with a focus on research, innovation, and patient perspectives. The day will begin with a session dedicated to Science, Research, and Innovation, which will explore the exciting future of cardiovascular health through cutting-edge research. This session will highlight the latest advancements, new technologies, and breakthroughs in cardiovascular science that hold the potential to revolutionize treatment and prevention strategies across Europe.

Following this, the Patient Voices in Action session will give a platform to patients who will share their personal stories and experiences. These firsthand accounts will provide a deeper understanding of how lived experiences can guide and shape a transformative EU Cardiovascular Health Plan.

Later on, a special Science-Snippet will offer a fresh perspective on gender differences in cardiovascular disease (CVD), which will examine the disparities in how CVD affects men and women differently, and why addressing these inequalities is essential for achieving better health outcomes for all.

Another key topic of the day will be CVD and Cancer, where experts will explore the synergies, learnings, opportunities, and challenges that exist at the intersection of cardiovascular disease and cancer. This discussion will look at how the two diseases overlap in terms of risk factors, treatment strategies, and patient outcomes, and how cross-disease collaboration could lead to new solutions and better care.

Finally, the day will conclude with a Key Takeaways Panel, which will focus on the importance of investing in cardiovascular health, which will emphasize why such investments are not only crucial for improving health outcomes but also for ensuring that the EU remains competitive on the global stage.
