Revalidatieziekenhuis Inkendaal (RI) is a reference centre for various rehabilitation specialties, helping individuals with complex neurological disabilities and developing specialised care programs to provide the patients with the greatest possible functional autonomy. It focuses on individuals recovering from severe musculoskeletal, neurological, locomotor, and cardiopulmonary disorders. Inkendaal Hospital is actively involved in national and regional convention programs and is recognized as a Reference Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders, an Interuniversity Reference Center for Cerebral Palsy, a Neuromuscular Reference Center, and a Home Respiratory Support Center. RI has facilities for extra-mural rehabilitation (3D gait lab, etc.). It is an expert center for the Flemish Agency for Persons with Disabilities. As a hospital, Inkendaal collaborates with various authorities, healthcare institutions, and patient associations. RI’s contribution to the project will be conducted by the Rehabilitation Department under the supervision of Professor Bernard Dan.

Prof. dr. Bernard Dan

Bernard Dan is a paediatric neurologist and rehabilitation physician at Inkendaal Rehabilitation Hospital, Belgium. He is also professor of developmental psychology and neuroscience at Université Libre de Bruxelles, and invited professor at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, member of the Académie royale de Médecine de Belgique and fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. His main clinical and research interests include cerebral palsy, neurogenetic conditions, and neurophysiology. He is editor in chief of Developmental Medicnie and Child Neurology. He is chair of the European Academy of Childhood Disability. He has received several national and international awards, including the John Stobo Prichard Award and the Elsass Foundation Research Prize. He has written over 300 journal articles; authored books on childhood disability and Angelman syndrome; co-edited a major reference book on cerebral palsy and one on ethics in childhood neurodisabilities.

Prof. dr. Marc Degelaen

Marc Degelaen is a professor of neurological rehabilitation and rehabilitation at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Rehabilitation Research Group (RERE, www.research.vub.be) and is a board member of the Belgium Cerebral Palsy Register. He is the director of the Rehabilitation Department at the Rehabilitation Hospital Inkendaal. The focus of his research is on neurological rehabilitation and movement analysis and member of the Center for Neurosciences of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (http://www.c4n.be/www.C4N.be). He has a research and large clinical expertise in the domain of neurological paediatric rehabilitation with special focus on children with cerebral palsy. His clinical expertise and research are unique aspects. His research focuses on postural control and movement patterns in children with cerebral palsy and gait analysis.

Dr. Elissa Embrechts

Elissa Embrechts graduated from the University of Antwerp in 2018 with a master's degree in physical therapy. Following graduation, Elissa Embrechts pursued a PhD, focusing on investigating the factors contributing to the early recovery of standing balance post-stroke. Currently, Elissa is engaged as a post-doctoral researcher in the TARGET project. Her primary role within the project involves contributing to the clinical study evaluating the recovery of standing balance and walking abilities in individuals post-stroke, using low-cost sensors to aid this process.

Britta Hanssen

Britta Hanssen graduated from KU Leuven in 2016 with a master's degree in Movement and Sports sciences and a specialisation in Clinical Motion Analysis. Afterwards, Britta pursued a PhD, focusing on the evaluation of lower limb muscle morphology in children with spastic cerebral palsy in relationship to lower limb strength and progressive resistance training. Currently, Britta is a research manager at the Department of Physical Rehabilitation Medicine at UZ Leuven and a post-doctoral researcher on the TARGET project. In the latter, she is involved in the clinical study evaluating the recovery of standing balance and walking abilities in individuals post-stroke
